When would it happen?
Construction
We recognise that a key aspect of the successful management of the Seagrave Road development is the maintenance of good relations with neighbours. To achieve this, we will implement a programme of ongoing liaison, including:
* A dedicated Community Liaison Manager who will focus on engaging with the community to provide information and resolve any issues
* A dedicated phone number / hot line
* Regular monthly newsletters will be distributed around the neighbourhood with regular updates posted on our website
* Regular neighbourhood forums and exhibitions will be held to explain the proposed works
* Public notice boards will be established at site entrances
Phasing
We anticipate that the construction of the Seagrave Road development will take just over 5 years. We intend to start construction works after the Olympic Games in October 2012.
The development will be split into 4 construction phases:
* Phase 1a - September 2012 to summer 2015
* Phase 1b - September 2012 to winter 2014
* Phase 2 - summer 2014 to autumn 2016
* Phase 3 - autumn 2015 to winter 2017
* Phase 4 - summer 2017 to winter 2018
Considerate Contractors
The Considerate Contractors Scheme is designed to ensure that contractors carry out their operations in a safe and considerate manner, with due regard to passing pedestrians, road users and neighbouring properties. We will require contractors to:
* Be considerate to the needs of all who are affected by the construction process and of its impact on the environment
* Minimise any disturbance or negative impact (in terms of noise, dirt and inconvenience) sometimes caused by construction works
* Eradicate offensive behaviour and language from construction sites
* Recognise and reward the contractors who raise standards of site management, safety and environmental awareness beyond their statutory duties
* Use local resources wherever possible and keep to a minimum at all times noise from construction activities
* Keep the site clean, tidy and well presented
