Sir Terry Farrell Appointed Masterplanner

Following the masterplanner competition for the Earls Court Project held in Covent Garden this April, we are delighted to announce that Sir Terry Farrell has been appointed to work with the Earls Court Project Team and people who live in the area to create a masterplan for the 77-acre site.
The voting panel was impressed by Sir Terry’s proposal as it displayed a real understanding of how urban developments can blend in with existing urban settings and become thriving, vibrant neighbourhoods in their own right.
His proposal centred around an arterial high street which would connect four urban villages that blend in with existing communities and would be natural ‘centres of gravity’ in the Earls Court Project Area.
If his proposal went ahead, the first building phase would be based around these four urban villages. Public gardens, housing, offices and shopping streets would follow in an organic fashion, reflecting the natural evolution of any city. This philosophy fits well with the vision behind the Earls Court Project.
Although Sir Terry and his team at Terry Farrell and Partners have been appointed the masterplanners for the project, the final masterplan will be decided after consultation with all key stakeholders and local communities.
