Changes to the proposals for Seagrave Road
21/11/2011
Following six weeks of public consultation from 12th August to 23rd September 2011, the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham considered feedback from people who live in the area on the proposals for the redevelopment of the Seagrave Road car park. In response to this feedback, the following changes were made to the plans:
* Building E at the southern end of the garden square has been reduced in size by around 17.5% to create more public space and to improve views and connectivity between Building D and the garden square
* Building D to the south of the site has been lowered in height to improve the view from Brompton Cemetery
* The communal terrace on Building D has been removed to reduce overlooking of Brompton Cemetery
* The tops of buildings across the site have been re-designed and lowered to make them less visible from various vantage points
* Further changes have been made to the top of Building B (the tallest on the site) to make it less prominent
* Stone cladding on Building C and Building D has been changed to a darker colour to reduce the impact of the buildings when seen from Brompton Cemetery
* The irregular arrangement of windows on Building C facing Brompton Cemetery has been changed to a more traditional, ordered design
This amended proposal for the Seagrave Road scheme is being presented for further public consultation by the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham until Wednesday 14th December.
